Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Media Jones LLC, a New York limited liability company doing business as The Literal Company ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of PriceHacker.com (the "Site"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit or interact with the Site. Our principal place of business is 368 9th Ave, New York, NY 10001. You may contact us at any time at hello@pricehacker.com.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Information you provide directly. If you contact us by email, sign up for a newsletter, or submit a form, you may share your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
  • Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure traffic, and serve advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect functionality.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support;
  • Analyze traffic, user behavior, and content performance;
  • Serve and measure advertising, including through third-party ad networks;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Advertising and Third-Party Services

The Site is supported by advertising. We work with third-party advertising partners and networks (such as Yahoo, Google, Meta, Outbrain, Taboola, and other demand and supply partners) that may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to collect information about your activity across this Site and other websites and apps. This information may be used to deliver advertising tailored to your interests and to measure ad performance.

These third parties operate under their own privacy policies. You can learn more about interest-based advertising and exercise opt-out choices at the DAA WebChoices tool, the NAI opt-out page, or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. We may share information with:

  • Service providers that help us run the Site (hosting, analytics, email, customer support);
  • Advertising partners, as described in Section 3, in connection with ad delivery and measurement;
  • Legal and safety recipients, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect rights or safety, or investigate fraud; and
  • Successors in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

5. Your Choices and Consent

On your first visit to the Site, we display a consent banner allowing you to Accept all cookies and similar technology, or Reject non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage and persists across visits on the same browser. You can change your choice at any time by clicking Cookie Preferences in the footer.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat your visit as a "reject non-essential" choice automatically and do not show the consent banner.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, opt out of interest-based advertising via the third-party tools described in Section 3, and unsubscribe from any marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the email.

5a. Rights of EEA, UK, and Swiss residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Restriction — request that we limit how we process your data.
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Our legal bases for processing under GDPR are: (i) consent, where required; (ii) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site; and (iii) compliance with legal obligations. To exercise any GDPR right, email us at hello@pricehacker.com with the subject "GDPR Privacy Request" and enough information to verify your identity.

5b. Rights of California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know, access, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise your right to opt out of sale or sharing, visit our dedicated page: Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.

To exercise other California rights, email hello@pricehacker.com with the subject "CCPA Privacy Request." We will respond within the legally required time period. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Residents of certain other U.S. states (including but not limited to Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana) have analogous rights under their state privacy laws. To exercise rights under any applicable state law, email hello@pricehacker.com with a description of your request and the state in which you reside.

5d. Cookies and similar technologies — categories

We categorize cookies and similar technologies as follows:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function (e.g., remembering your consent choice). These are not subject to opt-out because the Site will not work without them.
  • Analytics / performance — help us understand how the Site is used and improve it. Disabled if you reject non-essential cookies.
  • Advertising — used by us and third-party partners to deliver and measure advertising, including on other sites. Disabled if you reject non-essential cookies or opt out via the Do Not Sell page.

The Site is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@pricehacker.com and we will take steps to delete it.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Site, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

9. International Users

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
